Lifeline: Save on your monthly bill for local telephone service!

If you qualify, you can start taking advantage of Lifeline, a government assistance plan that can reduce your monthly recurring charge for basic telephone service.

Depending on where you live, the Lifeline program provides a discount as high as $13.50 per month off standard rates, and some states provide an even greater discount.

Link-up: Save up to 50% of your connection and activation fees!

Link-up is another government plan that helps you get residential telephone service by reducing the connection charge to activate your service by 50% up to $30.00 off standard service activation fees (depending on the state in which you reside).

You also may ask for over a year to pay off the remaining balance of the service activation charge, without interest. Or you may also have the option of having any remaining connection charges billed to you in monthly payments without any interest.

Link-up will NOT cover the cost of a phone or the wiring your home and you will only be able to use Link-up one time at your current address. Only one federally subsidized telephone is available per household. Additional lines are not subject to the Lifeline discounted rates.

Program Based eligibility and Income Based eligibility

Eligibility for Lifeline and Link-up varies by state, however, in most states you may be eligible if you already participate in one or more of the following government aid programs:

	Low-Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP)
	Federal Public Housing Assistance (Section 8)
	Medicaid
	Food Stamps
	Supplemental Security Income (SSI)
	Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF)
	National School Lunch free lunch program
